It Begins in Barcelona

London, England (MARCH 26, 2025) The wait is over. JMW Motorsport arrives in Barcelona this week as the European Le Mans Series returns to action with the official Prologue and opening round of the 2025 season at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The team’s unmistakable yellow Ferrari 296 GT3, piloted by Scott Noble, Jason Hart, and Gianmaria “Gimmi” Bruni, is prepped and ready for a full season assault in the highly competitive GT3 class.

Before Sunday’s four-hour race, teams will take to the track for the Prologue: a vital two-day test and the first true chance to measure up against the full-season grid. For JMW, it’s an opportunity to shake off the off-season dust, fine-tune strategy, and go wheel-to-wheel with the competition before the points are on the line.

With a refreshed grid, new liveries, and the ever-present unknowns of a new season, the Barcelona round promises excitement. For JMW Motorsport, it’s not just the beginning of another season, it’s the first chapter in what we intend to make a standout year.

Jim McWhirter - Team Principal: “So here we go celebrating our 20th season in the European Le Mans/Le Mans Series with lots of highs and a few lows.

Scott and Jason joined us in late 2024 giving a good account of themselves and with the addition of Gimmi I believe that we have a strong balanced line up which will give us the opportunity to fight for race results and the Championship in 2025 and will be the beginning of a strong and fruitful partnership going forward.

We had a strong test with Goodyear which proved a valuable learning experience and an opportunity to blend the driving partnership.

The opposition in the Championship is strong this year but with focus application and determination from both the Team and Drivers we should be in the mix.

Roll on 2025”

Scott Noble, Driver: “Barcelona’s a special place for me, we sealed a championship here, so it’s got that bit of extra meaning. But this season feels fresh. The move to Ferrari’s been exciting; it’s a proper machine. Balanced, fast, but it demands respect. Jason and I have built a solid rhythm over the years, and having Gimmi join the lineup adds another layer. He’s got loads of experience, and we’re already learning a lot from him. New team, new tools, but the same goal.

This championship’s a step up, no question. The level of competition here is higher, the margin for error smaller. It’s the big leagues, and that’s exactly where I want to be. Round one’s always a bit of a reset, but I like where we’re starting from.”

Gianmaria Bruni, Driver: “It’s always a great feeling to start a new season, and doing it in Barcelona? Even better. The track has so much character. Fast corners, technical sections, and always a great atmosphere. I’ve raced here many times, but those first laps of a new year always bring a bit of magic.

We had our first team test a few days ago at Paul Ricard, and getting in the car with Jason and Scott for the first time was fun. There was a good vibe straight away. You can tell when a team gels early, and I think we’ve got that. Everyone’s focused, but we’re also having fun.

JMW Motorsport has such a strong history in this championship, and it’s exciting to be part of that story again. The car feels great and the team’s motivated. Let’s see what Barcelona gives us!”

Jason Hart, Driver: “Racing the full season in ELMS with JMW and the Ferrari 296 LMGT3 is very exciting for many reasons. Scott has worked hard to be ready to compete at this level and I am so happy to see him begin this next challenge. Teaming up with Gimmi is a cherry on top, we have already learned a ton from him at a test earlier this year.

Personally I couldn't be happier to be in the top European Endurance Championship surrounded by such great people. I can't wait to arrive in Barcelona and get started!!!”
